Charles H. Newman

Charles H. Newman, 83, of Marionville, passed away Monday, May 18, 2026 at Ozarks Methodist Manor in Marionville. He was born on May 22, 1942 in Bethany, the son of Dwight and Ruth Newman.

He was a graduate of South Harrison High School in Bethany in 1960. He also graduated from Southwest Missouri State in Springfield and was a graduate of the Madison School of Banking.

He served in the Army reserves and completed his obligation with an Honorable Discharge. He worked for the U.S. Treasury Department as a Federal Bank Examiner in Kansas City and St. Louis.

He was a scanner and cb radio (citizen band) enthusiast. He also sang in the Manor Choir and served on the Residential Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include his brother David (Ann) Newman of St. Joseph.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel, 229 W, Church St., Aurora.

Family will gather with friends at 2:30 prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ozarks Methodist Manor, 205 S. College Ave., Marionville, MO. 65705 of First Lutheran Church, 302 S. 10th St., St. Joseph, MO. 64501.
