Megan Montgomery Taylor

Megan Montgomery Taylor, 32, of Paonia, Colorado, passed away on November 14, 2021. She was born May 30, 1989, in Alamosa, Colorado. Megan is survived by husband Andrew Taylor(Paonia), their three children, Trenton, Clara and Paxton; her parents Mark and Julie Faucett (Montrose, CO) her sister Blake Faucett (Dylan Adams)(Hobe Sound, Florida), paternal grandmother Joan Faucett (Mt. Vernon, MO) and maternal grandparents John and Patty Cryer (Mt.Vernon, MO) plus many other extended family members. She was preceded in death by daughter, Eleana, and paternal grandfather Leo Faucett.
Megan’s husband and children, coupled with her Christian faith and relationship with God were of utmost importance to her. Megan loved her husband and children tremendously and always wanted the best for them, even as she dealt with her own health struggles in recent years. Megan and Andrew were married August 15, 2009, in Fort Collins, Colorado. She never wavered in her faith in God. Megan loved doing life with Andrew as demonstrated by her support of his work, spending time with him at church, as well as camping, hunting, backpacking and hiking. A highlight for her was their trip to Alaska. Megan focused greatly on ensuring her children’s spiritual and academic development.
Megan’s fortitude and pioneering spirit always shone through as she learned how to hunt, quilt, refinish furniture, remodel their home, and make all kinds of foods from scratch. She very much enjoyed visiting with extended family via phone, as well as taking trips to see them. She remained close to both her and Andrew’s extended families, including parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and many nieces and nephews. Her heart for children and animals was always evident. She enjoyed caring for their family dogs and rabbit.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, earning the top one percent of the entire graduating class, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from CU Boulder. She practiced physical therapy until she decided to stay home with her children. Even after that, she was always willing to help anyone that had a question about an injury and kept up on Physical Therapy professional development.
Megan’s sweet spirit and light will continue to shine as we carry a piece of her with us for always.
