Sue Eckels

Sue Eckels, 85, of Aurora, died Sept. 16, 2026. She was born Oct. 6, 1940, in Washington. Sue graduated from Aurora High School and married Tom Eckels, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.
 
She was a Christian, a homemaker, retired from Aurora Public Schools, and was an active member of Southside Baptist Church. 
 
She is survived by her husband, Tom Eckels; three children: daughter Melanie Selvey and her husband, Tim; son Paul Eckels and his wife, Dianne; and son Dan Eckels and his wife, Nancy; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lou Wimmer; her sisters Nancy Ensell and Eileen McCoy; and her brother David Wimmer.
 
A celebration of life memorial and reception will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church, 412 W. Hadley, Aurora.
