Robert Franklin Wilbur

Robert “Rob” Franklin Wilbur passed away peacefully at his home on Oct. 21, 2025 in Monett. He was in Hospice Care while battling heart disease. He was born on Dec. 14, 1955 in Carthage. He graduated from Monett High School. He became a member of and served in the Missouri National Guard in 1976. He was employed at Wells Aluminum in Monett for 28 years. He retired in 2022. He loved model cars and his dogs Shade and Sassi were very precious to him. He was united in marriage to Tammy Stroll on Oct. 26, 2017 in Lawton, Okla.; she survives.
He is also survived by step-son Kody McDowell, of Walters, Okla.; step-daughter Amanda Brown, of Taylorsville, N.C.; his mother Barbara Wilbur Rose, of Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett; his sisters, Nancy Obermann, of Aurora and Sharon Ford, of Seligman; his loving aunt Margaret McCoy of Carthage; seven nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; a great-great-nephew; a loving longtime friend of 55 years, Mark Joeckel, of Joplin, formerly of Monett; and many cousins and friends.
A memorial visitation is being held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett.
