The parents of alleged murderer Gary Hunter, Jr. are being held in the Lawrence County Jail without bond after being arrested for allegedly hindering prosecution in the case of the murder of Sarah Pasco. Lisa Hunter and her husband, Gary Hunter, Sr., both of Stotts City, were booked into the jail on Tuesday, Oct. 13; both are charged with one count of hindering prosecution, a Class E felony.
According to the probable cause statement in the case, Lisa, 47, and Gary Hunter, Sr., 45, allegedly transported Gary Hunter, Jr. to the home of Greg and Ruby McKee, in Dade County, in the early evening hours of Tuesday, Aug. 18, because they wanted him to be “in a safe place.” The probable cause statement said they knew about the murder of Pasco.
The probable cause statement said the Hunters also transported Christina Knapp, also accused in the murder of Pasco, to the McKee’s house in the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 17. According to the probable cause statement, Ruby McKee later took Knapp back to Stotts City because she “didn’t want any trouble at (the McKee’s) home, while Gary Hunter, Jr. left the McKee home on foot.
According to notes accompanying the probable cause statement, both Lisa and Gary Hunter, Sr. “indirectly threatened” the surviving victim in the crime, which played a factor in the decision to keep them held without bail.
Gary Hunter, Jr., 23, the alleged triggerman in the murder of Pasco, is currently being held in the Lawrence County Jail; he is charged with 12 felony counts in the murder of Pasco, including: one count of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree assault, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, four counts of first-degree robbery and four counts of armed criminal action.
Knapp, 38, who is also being held at the Lawrence County Jail in connection with Pasco’s murder, faces nine felony counts, including: one count of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree kidnapping, one count of first-degree assault, one count of first-degree robbery, one count of unlawful possession of a firearm and four counts of armed criminal action.
Also being held in connection with the murder of Pasco are: Siera Dunham, 18, of Mt. Vernon; Diona Parks, 26, of Stotts City; Lyle DeLong, 23, of Stotts City; Andrew Cypret, 27, of Billings; Steven Calverley, 29, of Republic; Kimberly Henderson, 47, of Stotts City and Frank Sheridan, 27, of Aurora.
