Construction continues on the new railroad overpass being built on Highway 39 as it exits to the northwest of Aurora. A MoDOT employee, who requested anonymity on the grounds that he was not authorized to speak publicly, said there were some delays when construction began, but since then has been progressing steadily.
“We had a few delays with the railroad, but outside of that, we are proceeding as planned,” the employee said.
The employee also said the project’s original date of completion was set for Feb. 8, 2019, but “it’s been pushed back a little due to the delay.”
“We are trying to get it open as soon as possible,” he added. “We certainly don’t want to delay it any longer than we have to.”
