John Randall “Papa Nubs” Harper, Sr.

John Randall “Papa Nubs” Harper, Sr., 66, of Cassville, passed away Monday, July 6, 2026.

He was born Nov. 13, 1959 in Ukiah, Calif., the son of Vernon and Opal (Foster) Harper, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his fiancée, Laurie Philbin; brothers, Richard Harper and Robert Harper, and sister, Melody Powers.

Surviving are his sons, Richard Harper of Cassville, and John Randall “JR” Harper, Jr. of Lookout, Calif.; daughters, Jacqueline “Jackie” McIntire and husband Jeremy of Cassville, and Brittany Harper and her significant other Brandon Stevens of Springfield; brother, Tom Cannon of Marionville; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He grew up and attended school in Ukiah, Calif. He was employed by an architectural company as a paint line operator. He moved to Cassville in 2016.  He was an avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed building RC cars and model cars, as well as watching Star Trek.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church in Rocky Comfort, Missouri. Pastor Hap Anders will conduct the service.

Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral home in Cassville.
