Barbara Ray Baird

Barbara Ray Baird, 75, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at Cox Hospital in Springfield. She was born on May 19, 1950, in Porterville, Calif., the daughter of Max and Dorseen (Ray) Davis.
She was a 1968 graduate of Tonopah High School in Tonopah, Nev. and received her associate’s degree from Reno Junior High College. She was a service provider for an insurance company. She enjoyed gardening and was always late for everything she attended.
In 1993, she married William “Hutch” Hutchings in Goldfield, Nev. He preceded her in death on Jan. 15, 2010.
She is survived by three daughters, Jennifer (Michael) Graffney, of Gardnerville, Nev., Heather Porter, of Stotts City and Melissa (Kristopher) Morlan, of Indianapolis, Ind.; four sisters, Kathleen Korienek, of Mt. Vernon, Maxine Bradshaw, of Carson City, Nev. and Becky (Jim) Lisle of Sedona, Ariz.; four grandchildren; one great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Hutch.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon.
