Appetizer Meatballs
The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Appetizer Meatballs by Loeta Recknor
MEATBALLS:
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
2 eggs
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
5 oz. can evaporated milk
2 cups old-fashioned oats
1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. chili powder
2-3 tsp. salt
SAUCE:
2 cups catsup
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
1 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup onion, chopped
Combine the meatball ingredients. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place in a single layer in a baking pan.
Combine the sauce ingredients and pour over the meatballs.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour. Makes 9 dozen.
