An Aurora man was arrested on Thursday, Jan. 16, after he was accused of threatening two Probation and Parole officers who went to speak to him. Julian Jackson, 32, faces one count of tampering with a judicial officer.

An Aurora High School industrial arts teacher was arrested on Friday, Jan. 31, after he was accused of having inappropriate contact with one of his female students during her senior year in high school. Kyle Doss, 32, is charged with having sexual contact with a student, a Class E felony.

On Friday, Jan. 17, Mt. Vernon High School senior Madi Phillips signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and golf career as a Lady Lion at Missouri Southern State University in Joplin. She plans to major in pre-med and go in to neuropathology.
