Jackie Moore, a pillar of beef production in southwest Missouri has been inducted into the Missouri Agriculture Hall of Fame. Moore is the owner of Joplin Stockyards and has overseen the operation as it grew into the biggest livestock auction in the country.

In an announcement released on April 24, the Monett Chamber of Commerce stated it had dismissed executive director Jasmine Burks. Burks had been placed on administrative leave after the new Chamber board convened its annual joint meeting on March 11.

A major achievement after years of discussion concluded last week with the placement of a new roof on Monett’s Freedom Silo. The structure, dating from the turn of the century, was transformed by the mural painted on it in 2020 by Raine Clotfelter into a new landmark.
