Gerald Lynn Slaughter, 60, of Pleasant Hope, passed away Feb. 8, 2019, while at his home in Pleasant Hope. He was born in Clovis, N.M. on Nov. 20, 1958 to the late Naomi King. He was married in 2000 to Kim Horne; she survives. He was a truck driver and a veteran of the United States Navy.
Janice LaVerne Martin, 83, of Springfield, passed away Feb. 10, 2019, at her home. She was born June 14, 1935, in Marionville, to Rolie and Lillie (LeMaster) Maples.
Homer Howard Walker, 78, of Verona, passed away Feb. 10, 2019, at the Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. He was born Dec. 27, 1940, in Verona, to the late Howard and Eula (Hillhouse) Walker.
Shirley Cooper, 79, of Ozark, passed away Feb. 14, 2019. She was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Purcell, Okla. to Benny and Anita (Murphy) Claxton. Cooper was a homemaker.
Lyman L. Puffinbarger, 91, of Cassville, passed away Feb. 8, 2019, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon.
A private family burial will be held at the Seligman City Cemetery at a later date.
Williametta Winfred Augustine, 55, of Aurora, passed away Feb. 7, 2019, at her home. She was born Nov. 2, 1963, in La Crosse, Kan., to Albert and Babe Ruth (Brown) Augustine. Augustine worked as a caregiver in Mt. Vernon and other areas.
