Gary “Lynn” King II

Gary “Lynn” King II, age 57 of Springfield MO, completed his Earthly journey in his home, wrapped in his wife’s arms, on October 27, 2026. He had fiercely and fearlessly battled an aggressive form of pharyngeal cancer for the last five years.
Lynn was born on June 21, 1969, to Nancy and Gary King. He graduated in 1987 from Bolivar High School where he was active in Track and Football. Lynn proudly served his country, serving in the US Army. He became a Tactical Telecommunications Center Operator with the 327th Signal Battalion Company A at Fort Bragg, NC. His in-depth knowledge of technology and superior tactical communication skills afforded him the opportunity to also serve with the Fort Bragg 18th Airborne Corps. Lynn briefly lived in Bolivar after returning from his military duty but moved to Springfield to be closer to work. After his marriage to Angelita, they resided in Republic where they remained until their son graduated from high school and started college. Lynn worked a variety of jobs over the years, with many of those years as a DJ at local nightclubs. He and his wife were very involved with the Republic American Legion Baseball Program, volunteering their time in leadership roles for many years. Later in life he pursued and completed a degree at OTC in Electronic Media Production. He then contracted with multiple media outlet groups including Opfer Communications in Springfield. During his time there he had the opportunity to work with Billy Mays on several productions until Mr. Mays’ death in 2009.
Lynn’s final relocation was to his wife’s family farm west of Springfield in 2010. Lynn suffered a serious injury to his back while moving there which rendered him disabled. Unable to continue working in his current profession he became the primary caregiver for his mother-in-law until her death in 2012. His wife then encouraged him to pursue a hobby repurposing pallets into home décor and furniture. This hobby grew into an online store where Lynn’s original designs were sold all over the U.S. and internationally. One of the most popular, a beautiful wooden Christmas tree, has been included in Christmas window displays at numerous retail stores including a popular children’s clothing store in Canada.
Lynn enjoyed hanging out with his wife on the farm where they grew a large vegetable garden and worked on remodeling and landscaping projects. He liked to spend time with family and friends and enjoyed taking his grandsons fishing at the quarry, working or riding on the tractor and tinkering around the property. One of the highlights of every year that he looked forward to was the Annual Deer Camp held on Steve Catron’s property. This year, they will hunt in Lynn’s honor. His knack for growing multiple types of squash found him creating various types of squash sweet breads using his mother’s original recipe. Family and friends received these as gifts and during his treatment for cancer, he frequently arrived with his basket full and gave one to every nurse he could. For the last several years he and his wife have provided care for his father and his aunt, having moved them to the farm with both suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Lynn touched the lives of more people than he probably ever realized. His light and laughter were contagious to anyone around him and today the world is dimmer without him in it.
Lynn was met by those he loved that left before him including his Mother, Nancy King; Sister, Amy Creekmore; maternal and paternal Grandparents; Mother and Father-in-law, Beatrice and Clyde Thomas and several extended family members and friends.
Those left here on Earth to celebrate Lynn’s life and cherish his memory include his wife, partner and soulmate for over 30 years, Angelita; Son, Blaze (Halley) Carano of Lathrop, MO; Father, Gary King of the home; Mama, Dixie King, Pleasant Hope, MO; Sisters, Kelly (Brian) Chism, El Dorado Springs, MO; Kristy (Ed) Caley, Palisade, NE; Shawna (Jeffrey) Wright, Pleasant Hope, MO; Brother from another mother, Steve Catron, Passiac, MO; Son in heart, Joe Thompson, Halfway, MO; Dear friends; Vickie & Peter Heard, Galena, MO; Heath Pendergrass & Liz Harris, Mt. The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Preferred Hospice for their care and compassion. Nurse Katie, Nurse Kim, Nurse Aaron and Nurse Josh; there are no words that could thank you enough for the comfort, care and laughter you gave my husband. God Bless You All.
Per Lynn’s wishes no service will be held. His ashes will be spread in the family quarry on his first Heavenly Birthday next year.
I will always love you mostest, mostest of all!! Later Baby. FFA3D
