Alvah Elzie Cassity

Alvah Elzie Cassity, 82, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on July 25, 2026.

Born on July 13, 1944, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, Alvah lived a life defined by hard work, honesty, and devotion to his family. He dedicated 34 years to the Missouri Department of Transportation as a State Inspector before retiring. He also enjoyed raising cattle and took pride in the simple values of country life. Alvah loved hunting, fishing, spending time at the lake, and relaxing at the family cabin. He will be remembered as a hardworking, honest, and dependable man who was known for telling it like it was and always treating others fairly.

Above all, Alvah was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. His family was the center of his life, and his love, wisdom, and example will never be forgotten.

On April 5, 1971, Alvah married the love of his life, Margaret Helen Golubski, in Miami, Oklahoma. They shared more than 52 years of marriage before Margaret preceded him in death on December 3, 2023.

Alvah is survived by his sons, Jason Cassity and wife Tamara, of Purdy, MO and Aaron Cassity and wife Dawn, of Mt. Vernon, MO; daughter, Stacy Cassity, of Joplin, MO; two grandchildren, Chase Cassity, of Republic, MO and Cameryn Rutledge and husband Kendall, of Mt. Vernon, MO; his companion, Karen Wallace of Siloam Springs, AR; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

Alvah was preceded in death by his parents; his wife and several brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Buchanan FuneralHome, with Father Paul Pudhota officiating.Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and PaulCatholic Cemetery in Pulaskifield, MO. Visita-tion will be from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday atthe funeral home. Memorial contributions havebeen suggested to Sts. Peter and Paul CatholicCemetery. Arrangements are under the personalcare and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
