Aurora's Kalnicki accused of exposure in Republic incidents
An Aurora man has been accused of exposing himself to four women on four separate occasions in Republic.
Braeden Kalnicki, 27, faces four charges of sexual misconduct in the first degree. According to the probable cause statement, the incidents occurred between June 2025 and March of this year.
The first of these four incidents occurred around June 1, 2025. At this time, an officer attending to an unrelated incident was told of a man, later identified to be Kalnicki, who was undertaking a sexual act in his car while the victim was delivering his food. The victim described the suspect as a white male in his early 30’s, matching the appearance of Kalnicki.
On June 11, 2025, a different law enforcement officer responded to a location in Missouri after being informed of an indecent exposure claim. This incident, similar in nature to the aforementioned, found a victim once again delivering food to Kalnicki’s car; when she arrived, she said that Kalnicki was exposed. Another such incident occurred on June 19.
The final incident reported by court documents occurred March 4 of this year. The probable cause states that between 8 and 8:45 a.m., Kalnicki entered a business, placed an energy drink on the counter and handed the cashier a bill to pay for the item. While the cashier was returning change to the man, she observed that he had lifted his hoodie above his waistline, exposing himself to the woman. This time, however, Kalnicki was caught on camera during the act. The investigating official obtained the surveillance footage and identified Kalnicki as the individual perpetrating the act.
On March 11, 2026, Kalnicki was stopped and arrested during a traffic stop. The officer explained that video surveillance implicated him for the most recent crime. Kalnicki stated that he usually stops to purchase an energy drink at that establishment but said that he did not intentionally commit a crime or know how his genitals were exposed. Upon hearing this, the arresting officer showed Kalnicki a still from the surveillance footage clearly depicting the illegality, to which he responded, "Damn, OK.”
After being shown more evidence, he maintained that he did not know his genitals were exposed.
He was later identified by victims in each of the earlier mentioned crimes.
Kalnicki was arrested but was released on a $5,000 bond.
