Harry “Junior” Ballard

Harry “Junior” Ballard, 91, of Springfield, passed away, Feb. 11, 2020 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born on Dec. 26, 1928 in Grove Springs to Harry and Sarah (Kincade) Ballard.
He met and married his wife of 42 years, Theda Hutto while both were serving in the Army in Germany.
Survivors include: children, Kathy Buergler (Mark), Michael Ballard, Harry Ballard, Teresa (Brad) Chadwick, Jeanne Henderson and Paul Ballard; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Theda; and second wife, Ann; two children; and his brothers and sisters.
Visitation was held Feb. 18, 2020 with a service that followed at Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at Rivermonte (4500 S. Lone Pine Springfield 65804). Burial followed in Springfield National Cemetery (1702 E. Seminole Springfield). Memorials may be made to Missouri Veterans Home (1600 S. Hickory Mount Vernon, MO 65712).
