Marionville’s Ficklin gets 25 years for murder

Bobby Ficklin

A Marionville man will spend 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder. Bobby Dale Ficklin, 44, pleaded guilty on Monday, Feb. 10, to murdering Korrina Fisher, also of Marionville.
According to the probable cause statement in the case, Fisher was found dead in her residence in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019. Ficklin was taken into custody, and while being questioned in a post-Miranda interview, stated he and Fisher had been arguing on the night of Tuesday, Oct. 1 and into the early hours of Oct. 2.
Ficklin also stated that, during the argument, Fisher had begun to hit him, and he grabbed her by the throat with both hands, straddled his legs around her body on the couch and “choked her until she stopped moving and her face turned blue.” Ficklin said after he realized he’d killed Fisher; he left the residence.
As part of a plea agreement, the original charge of first-degree murder was reduced to second-degree murder, sparing Ficklin a possible death sentence.
Ficklin was held without bond at the Lawrence County Jail from Oct. 2 until he was transferred to the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections on Thursday, Feb. 13; he receives credit towards his sentence for the time he spent in the jail.
