Mary Lee Evans

Mary Lee Evans, 74, of Hollister, formerly of Monett, passed away Jan. 25, 2020 at Cox Branson Hospital in Branson. She was born June 18, 1945 in Monett to the late Leroy and Mary (Henson) Halsey. She graduated from Monett High School in 1963 and then attended SMS. In 1967, she and her high school sweetheart, Samuel Evans, were united in marriage in Monett. she worked for Skaggs Hospital in the home care department for 19 years until her retirement in 2008.
Evans is survived by: her step-daughter, Valery Richards, of Hollister; one step-grandson of Hollister; one step-granddaughter, Mercedes Wilson of Salt Lake City, Utah; and a host of nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Evans.
Funeral services were held Jan. 29, 2020 at Buchanan Funeral Home. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, south of Monett. Arrangements were entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
