Two in the chamber

Kids and Critters hosts ribbon cutting— Debbie Lee, owner, cuts the ribbon at Kids and Critters on Friday, Jan. 9, on the square in Mt. Vernon at an event hosted by the Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce. The boutique offers specialty products for pets and children.
“This is just the beginning,” Lee said. “We’ve got plans for adoption days, crafting with kids and neighborhood walks. I’m grateful for everyone who came out to support the ribbon cutting, and I’m looking forward to meeting more of you. Bring your little buddy in to pick out their own treat on Doggie Row, or drop them off for a couple of hours while you take care of business.”
The newly opened business is located at 109 East Dallas Street. For more information call 949-293-1874. (Photo by Lizy Bailey)
Pearson-Kelly joins Mt. Vernon chamber— Joel Ferguson, implementation technician at Pearson Kelly Technology, prepares to snip the ribbon, celebrating the addition of Pearson-Kelly to the Mt. Vernon Area Chamber of Commerce on Jan. 8 at the chamber office. The technology company supplies office equipment to many in the area, serving Springfield, Joplin and Rogers, Ark., in addition to Mt. Vernon.
“I grew up in a smaller community, so this is what I’ve always known my entire life,” said Chris Lentz, account manager for Pearson Kelly.
