Stanley Lynn Underhill

Stanley Lynn Underhill, 65, passed away at home on Sept. 27, 2026, with his wife close by his side. He was born on Oct.1, 1960, in Springfield, to Dolan D. and Patricia A. (Bowles) Underhill. 
 
He was a graduate of Pleasant Hope High School and started working shortly after at Kraft Foods in Springfield, where he stayed for 18 years. He left there and went to work in Maintenance at Missouri Baptist Children's Home for the next 19 years. His final career change just one year short of his retirement was as the Assistant Superintendent for the City of Joplin, Wastewater.
He married (Mindy) Melinda S. (Harris) on Aug.7, 1982, at Round Grove Baptist Church.. They had an amazing life of 44 years together.
 
He is survived by his children, Ryan L. Underhill, and Rachel B. Sopok (husband James); two grandchildren; one sister, Rayna A. Underhill.
A memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 2, at Round Grove Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fossett-Mosher funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
