Sour Cream Nut Bread

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Sour Cream Nut Bread by Marguerite Howard

2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 beaten egg
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cup sour cream
1 cup nuts
1 cup raisins or dates

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices.

Beat the egg; add sugar and mix. Stir in the sour cream. Add the dry ingredients, nuts and raisins.

Bake in a loaf pan at 350° for one hour.
