Sara Jane Niday

Sara Jane Niday, 83, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Ozarks Methodist Manor, in Marionville. She was born July 22, 1942, in Springfield, the daughter of Ellsworth and Louise (Fischer) Slack. 

She was a 1960 graduate of Parkview High School, in Springfield, and was a member of the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Plano, Texas. 

In November 1970 she married Charles Niday in Springfield. He preceded her in death in August of 2000.

She is survived by her son, Dan Kesterson and his wife, Lee Tyler, of Marionville; one daughter, Kathleen Guittar and her husband, Richard, of Arlington Heights, Ill.; six grandchildren, brother-in-law, Jim Hair of Springfield, daughter-in-law, Lisa Katzenstein of Richardson, Texas, 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellsworth and Louise; her husband, Charles; one son, David Kesterson, a great-granddaughter, Olivia McCray and two sisters, Sharon Hair and Sue Pompeo and her husband, Bob. 

A joint memorial service for Sarah and her son David will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home, in Marionville. Burial will be held at a later date at the Church of the Holy Nativity Columbarium in Plano, Texas.
