Linda Jewell Pierson

Linda Jewell Pierson, 84, of Stotts City, passed away on Tuesday, Aug.18, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Aurora. She was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Kansas City, the daughter of Vernon and Irene (Marsee) Hill.
 
She was a 1959 graduate of Central High School in Springfield and was a United States Navy veteran. She was an LPN and worked as a Respiratory Therapist at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, and served on their volunteer fire department. 
She is survived by her husband, Steve; one daughter, Michelle Compton and her husband, Rick, of Willard; three sons, Michael White, Jody White and his wife, Lorna, of Mt. Vernon and Ben White and his wife, Trish, of Bentonville, Ark.; one sister, Sandra Wheeler of Springfield; brother-in-law, Bob Sweeny, of Springfield; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon, and Irene Hill; one son, Andrew Pierson and two sisters, Karen Sweeny, and Bonnie (Kenneth) Mullet.
 
A visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A graveside service was held on Monday, Aug. 24, at Goss Cemetery.
