Lawrence County man accused of threats to infant, woman

A man in Lawrence County was charged with harassment and sexual misconduct after an incident that occurred on Feb. 25. 
 
Court documents say that Dakota Kurth, a citizen of Kansas City made threats toward a woman and an infant over text messages.
 
Kurth, born in 1997, allegedly sent multiple messages to the woman, his ex-girlfriend, in which he threatened to rape her among other, more gruesome texts. He also made threats in the same nature toward the woman’s five-month-old infant.
 
The probable cause statement said the woman was put into emotional distress following the messages and feared for her and her infant’s safety. Law enforcement arrived at her house at approximately 4:45 p.m. that day.
 
A criminal summons has been issued to Kurth who faces charges of harassment in the first degree, a class E felony and sexual misconduct, a class C misdemeanor in the second degree. He is set to appear in court on Monday, March 23.
