Gerald Hood

Gerald Hood, 83, of Joplin, passed away Feb. 13, 2020.He was born Dec. 5, 1936 in Spring Valley, to Herman and Bernice (Schilling) Hood.
Hood graduated from Neosho High School in 1954. He owned and operated Hood Sheet Metal for 57 years. He married Julia (Judy) Dedrickson in 1957 in Webb City and she survives.
Hood is survived by: daughters, Brenda (Robert Cook) Howard of Monett, Barbara Hunt of Rolla, Beth (Rick) McCully of Neosho; sister, Phyllis (Dave) Daniels of Joplin; brothers, Ronnie (Wanda) Hood of Joplin; Larry Hood, of Neosho; five grandchildren; along with numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Feb. 20, 2020 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
