Carl "Patrick" Goist

Carl "Patrick" Goist, Jr., 53, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Mt Vernon. He was born in St. Charles, on Friday, Jan. 12, 1973; son of Carl Patrick Goist, Sr. and Patricia (Proffitt) Goist. He was a 1991 graduate of Independence High School in Kansas and attended Arkansas State University. 

Surviving are his father, Carl Patrick Goist, Sr.; a brother, Eric Goist, of Miller; two sisters, Rachel Williams of Hoover, Ala. and Leah Goist of Birmingham Ala. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Goist and a sister, Jessica Goist.

There will be an open casket from 12:30 p.m. until service time at Isenberg Cemetery in Gamaliel, Ky. (Monroe County) on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. with Mike Proffitt officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
