Apple Pudding

The Record’s “Recipe of the Week”:
Apple Pudding by Ella Overstreet

BASE:
3/4 cup sugar
1 T. flour, heaping
1 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of salt
6 lg. apples, peeled & sliced very thin

TOPPING:
1 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

For the base, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Add the apple slices. Place in a buttered baking dish.

For the topping, combine all ingredients. Sprinkle over the apples. Bake at 325° for 1 hour. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
