Mt. Vernon went 2-1 last week as Big 8 play continues to roll with a big win versus Marshfield, Tuesday before getting another one in Hollister, Wednesday. The week ended with a loss Friday against Catholic.

Mt. Vernon’s Lady Mt’neers took home sixth place in the 14th Annual Stockton Tournament after falling to the Lamar Lady Tigers in the consolation game 48-44 in overtime Saturday morning.

The Mt. Vernon Mt’neers were busy last week after snow pushed the start of the Stockton tournament to Wednesday. The Mt’neers took fourth in the 54th annual tournament after dropping a thrilling game in a rematch against Lamar 54-53.

It was a slow week in Miller athletics as the boys got a week to savor the miraculous overtime win in the Miller tournament championship with a week without games, and the girls looked as dominant as ever defeating Sarcoxie and moving to 1-0 in conference play.
