Old Missouri Bank (OMB) officially opened the doors of its new Mt. Vernon building on Monday, Feb. 25. The building is located at 510 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd. in Mt. Vernon,, the former home of Eli’s Short Stop. OMB was previously operating out of a temporary branch at 318 W. Mt. Vernon Blvd.

The city of Miller is in need of a new chief of police. Levi Neely, who became the city’s top cop back in September of 2018, has resigned after about seven months on the job. His last day was Friday, Feb. 22.

The Class 2 District 11 girl’s basketball tournament was dominated by the Miller Lady Cardinals, as they won the school’s first district title since 2016, defeating Ash Grove handily, 52-31.

If you look at the final scores, it appears an easy road through the Class 3 District 12 girls basketball tournament for the Mt. Vernon girl’s basketball team, as the average victory margin was a whopping 36 points.
