Verona, Pierce City send off seniors in graduation ceremonies
The 29 members of the Verona High School Class of 2025 received diplomas during commencement in the school gym on May 16. Speeches were given by valedictorian Biak Par, salutatorian Sebastian Brant, and art teacher John Etchison, whose son was among the graduates. Colored cords worn by the graduates denoted top 10, National Honor Society, A+ scholarships, career and technical training, and membership in FBLA and FFA.

Pierce City graduated 55 seniors on May 18. The class included 12 summa cum laude diplomas and 14 magna cum laude. The class had 39 who completed qualifications for an A+ scholarship. Ten were named to the National Honor Society. In future plans, 47 percent of the class planned to seek career training, apprenticeships, or join the workforce.
