Vera Orean Mangrum

Vera Orean Mangrum, 72, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at her home in Pierce City. She was born in Yuma, Ariz. on Oct. 14, 1953; daughter of George and Willa Mae (Finley) Nunnaley. She graduated from high school in Arizona. At the age of 20 she moved to Tennessee, then moved to Pierce City in 1998. She retired from her career as an ophthalmology tech in Joplin.
Surviving are three children,  Crystal (Billy) Adams, of Pierce City,  Jason Campbell, of Joplin and Kaci (Justin) Guinn, of Stark City; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; one sister, Cynthia Jo Renk, of Alaska; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Willa Mae Nunnaley; two sisters, Deborah Calif and Dennice Lawton; and a granddaughter, Maci Guinn.
She has been cremated at her request. Services will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
