New playground equipment added at Monett’s North Park

On hand were representatives from the City of Monett and the Monett Area Chamber of Commerce, and community partners representing the Monett Cubs baseball and softball teams, the Monett Youth Baseball and Softball League, the City of Monett Parks and Public Works departments, Miracle Recreation, and Ozark Mountain Installations. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on May 13 at Monett’s North Park Sports Complex to celebrate the opening of a new playground designed for area children.
The new playground equipment, located between the baseball fields of North Park, complements a newly refurbished set of equipment designed for older children. This new addition represents an $80,000 investment in the park system. This is the first expenditure of funds generated by the city’s park sales tax, implemented last year. The equipment was manufactured by Miracle and installed by Ozark Mountain Installations. These playgrounds are often used by younger family members of our youth baseball and softball league players, and of the Monett Cubs baseball and softball teams.
