New gas line in Mt. Vernon

Work continues on the installation of a new gas line along South McCanse Street in Mt. Vernon. Utility company Spire is burying 7.1 miles of new pipeline, a project that is expected to last into August. The specific project starts just south of Mt. Vernon Boulevard and stops at County Road 2190 just north of Verona.
