Maxine Horton

Maxine Horton, 89, of Aurora, passed away May 28, 2019, in her home.
She was born to Hugh and Rella Parks Sweatt June 24, 1929, in St. Louis. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: sons, Gary (Mary Beth) Horton of El Cajon, Calif., David (Missy) Horton of Verona, James  (Danette) Horton of Melber, Ky.; daughter, Cheryl Coffman of Ocala, Fla.; brother, Hue (Margaret) Sweatt Jr. of Hernando, Miss.; sister, Norma Ziegler of East Helena, Mont.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two beloved pets, Timmy and Dede. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband of 56 years, Don Horton; daughters, Donna Hintz and Pamela Hanson; and sister, Linda Pleshe.
Funeral services were held May 31 in the Aurora Bible Church under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Maple Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis, in care of the funeral home.
