Freddie Lou DePriest

Freddie Lou DePriest, 85, of Aurora passed away on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, at the Aurora Nursing Center. He was born Aug. 14, 1940, in Thomasville, the son of Lewis Emil and Mildred Lee (Lawson) DePriest.
He was a 1958 graduate of Parkview High School in Springfield. He was a truck driver and enjoyed going to the lake.
On Aug. 14, 2014, he married Marivel Nunez, in Guayabillo, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Marivel; one son, Joe DePriest of Verona; three daughters, Jennifer Yeager and her husband Doug, of Sparta, Jackie Kenyon and her husband Richard, of Monett and Jane DePriest, of Springfield; stepson, John Bowman and his wife Sandra, of Crane; three stepchildren, Omar, Leobardo and Carmen Garcia; one sister, Norma Jean Drisdoll and her husband Rex, of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister; one brother, Jackie DePriest; grandson, Brandon Cox; daughter-in-law, Enisa DePriest and stepson, Jerry Bowman.
No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora.
