Donna Lou Spivey

Donna Lou Spivey, of Mt. Vernon passed away on Jan. 17, 2026. She was born Oct. 13, 1944, in Carlinville, Ill., to Bill and Jessie Sulls.
She married the love of her life, Vaughn Spivey, on Nov. 15, 1985, and together they celebrated 40 years of marriage. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a hardworking and dedicated professional, spending 10 years as a CPA, 10 years in management at Carnahan, Carnahan, & Evans law firm, and 10 years with the Springfield Police Department as a records keeper. When her health was good, she attended Church of the Nazarene, Ozark and remained faithful to the Lord.
She is survived by her husband Vaughn Spivey; daughter Kathy Myers; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her twin brother Don Sulls; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law Monica Sulls.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial followed at Delaware Cemetery in Nixa. Pastor Steve Hicks officiated.
