DARLENE BOATNER LIM

Darlene Boatner Lim, 85, of Monett passed away on Dec. 23, 2024. She was born in McAlester, Okla. on April 9, 1939; the daughter of Roy and Lillie Boatner.
She graduated from McAlester High School in 1957 and attended East Central University from 1958 to 1962; earning her master’s degree in education. She would later go on to earn her master’s in library science from the University of Oklahoma.
She taught elementary and secondary education and served as a librarian at all levels in Oklahoma and Texas. She resided also in Arkansas and Missouri upon retirement.
She is survived by three children: Gregory Lim of Dallas, Texas, Timothy (Kimberly) Lim of Merritt Island, Fla. and Emily (Michael) Plunkett  of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; and two brothers: Walter Boatner of Gadsden, Ala. and Phillip Boatner of Clayton, Okla.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Barbara Boatner Benson.
Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 28, at Waldensian Presbyterian Church in Monett. Burial followed in Waldensian Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
