Brenda Kay (Wrobleski) Buchanan

Brenda Kay (Wrobleski) Buchanan, 66, of Liberty passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, with family by her side, in Kansas City. She was born in Monett on Aug. 23, 1959; daughter of Gerald and Betty (Craton) Wrobleski. She was a 1977 graduate of Pierce City High School where she was football homecoming queen her senior year. In 1981, she moved to Kansas City and spent 41 years working for Hallmark Cards while building quite a Christmas ornament collection.
She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Kansas City.
Surviving are three children, Tiffany Gripka, of Monett, Brittany Nolan and fiancé Ryan Fender, of Kansas City and Brendan Buchanan of Liberty; three grandchildren; brother-in-law Gary Pierce, of Pierce City; sister-in-law Missy Wrobleski, of Monett; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Gerald and Betty Wrobleski; brother, Rodney Wrobleski; and sister, Guessie Pierce.
The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14, with rosary service beginning at 8 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pierce City on Thursday, Jan. 15, beginning at 10 a.m., with Father Paul Pudhota officiating. Burial will follow at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Pulaskifield.
Memorials may be made in her memory to either NorthCare Hospice House or St. Mary’s Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City.
