Nylene Campbell passed away peacefully at 3:32 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, surrounded by her family.  She was born February 10, 1928 in Aurora, Missouri, the daughter of the late A.C. and Leota M. (Cameron) Vandbergh.  

Nylene was born and raised in Aurora and was a 1945 graduate of Aurora High School.  She graduated with secretarial credentials from Lindenwood College in 1947.  On May 1, 1949, she married Kenneth Campbell in Aurora.

Nylene worked for the Phillips Petroleum Company before devoting her time as a homemaker and mother.  She was active in the First Presbyterian Church in all of the communities of which they resided, was active in the Girl Scouts and her children’s softball teams.  This support carried over to her grandchildren.  

She, with her husband Ken, lived their wedding vows every day.  She was a shining example of love, compassion and courage.  She had an incredible sense of humor that along with her faith carried her through her final days.

Nylene will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Kenneth E. Campbell and her daughters Sherri Snoddy and her husband, William, and Donna Gum and her husband, Bob; grandchildren, Jeff Gum, Josh Campbell, Miranda Nylene Frohlich, Kyle Frohlich, and Carly Rose Gum; nephews and nieces, Roy Lee Campbell, Mike Campbell, Caren Journagan and Candy Brandt and their families.

Nylene will be laid to rest, under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora following an 11:00 a.m. service at the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora.
