William Edward “Bill” Rainey

William Edward “Bill” Rainey, passed away in Springfield Aug. 25 from COVID-19. He was born in Houston, Ark., Aug. 24, 1936 to Elmer and Eunice Rainey. He was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University, where he ran track and played football. He owned Bear Steel in Springfield until his retirement.
 He is survived by: wife, Claudia; children, Bob (Cynthia) Rainey of Plano, Texas; Lisa (Mario) Arredondo of Dallas, Texas; Bill Rainey of Monett; and Danny Rainey of Springfield; four grandchildren; sister, Marynelle Rainey Grist, Fairfield Bay, Ark.; brother, Randy Rainey, of Conway Ark.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, and brother, Gordon.
