Victor W. Unfer

Victor W. Unfer, 97, of Cassville, passed away Nov. 15, 2019, at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett. Unfer, son of August and Ameila (Wiebke) Unfer, was born Oct. 5, 1922, in Port Townsend, Wash. He was married to Clara Unfer in 1972; she preceded him in death in 2006. Unfer served his country proudly in the United States Army. He and his brother Wilfred, owned and operated Unfer Brothers Trucking in Valdez, Alaska. Survivors include: step-son, Monty Woods, of Cassville; step-daughters, Becky Fortenberry, of Ault, Colo. and Pat Fabrizius, of Windsor, Colo.; numerous grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; and a host of family.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by: brother, Wilfred Unfer; sisters, Gweneth Mitton Stevenson and Harriette Unfer; and step-daughter, Audrey Poplin.
Services were held Nov. 25, 2019, at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville. Burial was held at Ault Cemetery in Ault, Colo. Service arrangements and cremation were under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville.
