Russell Dean Wimberley

Russell Dean Wimberley, 68, of Monett, passed away July 30, 2022.
He was born on Feb. 26, 1954 in Monett, son of Rolland and Larna (Smallwood) Wimberley. He was united in marriage to Tracy Hawkins on April 10, 1997, she survives.
He grew up and attended school in Monett, graduating with the class of 1972. He worked for several years as a cabinet craftsman and installer before changing careers to work as a Project Manager at EFCO. After retiring from EFCO, Wimberley worked at Lowe’s as a project specialist.
He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Pierce City.
He is survived by his wife Tracy, of the home; sons: Nicholas Wimberley, of Springfield, Kevin (Jennifer) Wimberley, of Bella Vista, Ark. and John Hammond, Jr.; daughters, Kelley Hammond, of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Miranda Ohms; 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Janet (Mike) Pruett, of Pflugerville, Texas; a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Larna Wimberley; one son, Brian Wimberley; and former wife, Barbara (Abramovitz) Wimberley.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022 at the First Baptist Church, Pierce City, with Pastor Greg Hagebusch officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Buchanan Funeral Home. Memorial contributions have been suggested to Compassion International (an organization that teaches children around the world about Jesus Christ) or to Gideon’s International in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
