Banking outfit to soon occupy former Regions Bank location on Elliott Avenue, update now underway
People’s Community Bank plans to open a new branch in Aurora. The bank’s new location will be in building formerly occupied by Regions Bank at 1625 S. Elliott.
Keith Willcut, president and CEO of People’s, said the bank is opening the branch because Aurora is the sort of town in which People’s was created to thrive.
“Peoples Community Bank was founded over 40 years ago in Greenville, Mo.,” he said. “It remains a family-owned bank still today. We feel that the Aurora market mirrors what we do best; small town community banking that values a true community partnership.”
Willcut said the branch will be a “full-service banking location with local loan decisions.” Alisha Ackerman, from Republic, will be the location’s branch manager and lender.
“Our target banking market is smaller southern Missouri towns where the customers want and need personalized service from someone they know and trust,” Willcut said. “We believe local lending decisions puts a lender right in front of the customer that Is seeking financial help.”
Additionally, Willcut said People’s will provide the banking service Aurora residents are looking for.
“We have 16 full-service banking locations across Southern Missouri,” he said, “and 14 of those locations are in communities of less than 10,000 people. Rural banking is what we do best. We understand that the community of Aurora wants a progressive full-service banking team that delivers a high level of personalized customer service.
People’s will open their new branch in Aurora on or around Tuesday, Sept. 1.
