Patricia Ann Starkl

Patricia Ann Starkl, 75, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Oct. 2, 2018, while at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center after a lengthy decline in health.
Starkl was born Jan. 3, 1943, in Peoria, Ill. to James Robert and Zettie (Long) Capps. Following her education, Starkl enlisted and served her country honorably in the United States Army. She had worked in the garment industry and enjoyed painting and quilting when she had time. She married David Lee Dickey in 1961, in Phoenix, Ariz. He preceded her in death.
Starkl is survived by: brothers, Glen (Leah) Capps of Hillsboro, Coleman Capps of Bell City, and Willie Capps of Stotts City; sisters, Vicky Green of Stotts City, Shirley Kidd of Lexington, N.C., Mary Glascock of Wash., Helen (John) Sandoval of Cassville and Rosalie (Charlie) Culvert of Catawissa; as well as a host of family. She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Joseph Capps and Clifford Capps; and sister, Phyllis VanGennip.
Starkl wished to be cremated, with burial at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
