Norma Dean Bowman

Norma Dean Bowman, 88, of Freistatt, passed away March 23, 2020, while at Lacoba Homes in Monett.
She was born on April 28, 1931 in Monett, to the late Eli and Lola Jane (Jackson) Balmas. Growing up in Monett, She attended and graduated from Monett High School with the class of 1949. she was a lifelong member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where she had been a vacation Bible school volunteer and Sunday school teacher. For almost 50 years, she and her husband owned and operated Micro Turn Company.
In 1952, she married Victor Jacob Wendler; he passed away in 1961. She later married C.K. “Kenny” Bowman in 1963. They shared over 49 years together until his passing in 2012.  
Survivors include: daughter, Pam Schoen, of Freistatt; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Sue) Balmas of Monett; sister, Etta Mae (Ronnie) Frampton of Kingman, Kan.; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by: infant daughter, Vicki Lynn Wendler; brothers, Jim and Charles Balmas; sister, Betty Jean Balmas; and son-in-law, Fred Schoen.
Graveside services were held March 26, 2020 at King’s Prairie Cemetery. Memorials my be made to Trinity Lutheran School or Trinity Lutheran Radio Broadcast in care of the funeral home. Arrangements were entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett.
