Mt. Vernon Night at Springfield Cardinals

 Mt. Vernon Night at the Springfield Cardinals, Friday June 14, drew around 200 people from Mt. Vernon. As part of the festivities, this year’s Mt. Vernon High School softball team, who made it to the state final four, was recognized on the field prior to the game. The recognition was followed by softball head coach Matt Schubert throwing out the first pitch.
The evening was also Methodist Night at the park, which contributed another 650 in attendance. The Springfield Cardinals played the Corpus Christi Hooks that evening, and topped the visiting squad, 4-2.
