Mt. Vernon’s Meirick qualifi es for state tourney

Mt. Vernon's Carter Meirick had a great day on the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course Monday of last week at the district golf tournament shooting an 80. His score was good for second at the tournament and was just one stroke behind Andon Cook, of Butler who took home the individual championship. Meirick’s finish qualified him for the state tournament Monday and Tuesday at Columbia Country Club.
