Students and parents all helped out with the morning's carwash, making quick work
of the estimated 100 cars that came through.

On Saturday, July 20, the Miller community came together in a big way. The Miller Booster Club held two fundraisers that day for the "Ramping Up" project that has been proposed for the Miller Football stadium. The project would make the bleachers more handicap accessible for all those wishing to watch Miller football.
To start the morning, Miller football players, alongside cheerleaders and volleyball players, washed car after car at the Miller carwash. Trucks, cars, ATV's and side-by-sides, all lined the street waiting for their turn to be scrubbed clean by the 20 or so young athletes. Watermelon, cantaloupe and lemonade were also available for purchase as well as T-shirts. Regardless of the 100 plus heat index, the students and parents all gave their best efforts.
Later that evening, Miller residents packed Main Street and the Miller bandstand for a benefit concert held by Miller alumni Justin "JT" Taylor, who kept the crowd entertained with classic favorites. Homemade baked goods and a variety of fried treats were all for sale that night too.
So far, the Miller Booster Club has raised nearly $12,000 for the ramps. With a $15,000 goal in mind, there is little doubt that goal will be reached.
It was more than evident that day, what a small community filled with kind, caring people are capable of. With continued support, the ramps will hopefully be available for the upcoming football season.
