Mary Nadine January

Mary Nadine January, 91, of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Lacoba Homes in Monett.
She was born April 12, 1923 in Augusta, Kan., to John C. and Nettie (Wilhite) Powers. In 1946 in Emporia, Kan., she was married to James Calvin January; who preceded her in death in 2012.
She grew up and received her education in Augusta, Kan., where she graduated from high school. For several years she was an executive secretary at Beechcraft Aircraft. In 1989 she moved from Clearwater, Kan. to Shell Knob to make her home. Some of her favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, reading and spending time with friends and family.
Surviving are: son, John C. (Amy) January of Kansas City; daughters, Gemey (Lynn) Hobson of Surf City, N.C., Missy (Joe) DeWeese of Anderson and Angela (James) Parker of Leon, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
