Louretta Faye Corum

Louretta Faye Corum, 92, of Sarcoxie, passed away June 15, 2019 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage.
She was born, March 11, 1927 in Miller, to the late Charles and Nellie (Hart) Reynolds. She attended LaRusell and Sarcoxie Schools. She lived most of her life in the LaRussell and Sarcoxie area. In 1946 she married Boyd E. “Boz” Corum, together they shared 43 years until his passing on May 20, 1989. She was a member of LaRussell Baptist Church, as well as attending New Fairview Baptist Church. For several years she was employed by Morrow Foods in Carthage. She was a member of the Democratic Party and enjoyed working elections in LaRussell and Sarcoxie. She always enjoyed reading, visiting and gardening; as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Corum is survived by: her children, Carolyn (Lloyd) Whisner of Kansas City, Kan., Kaye Smith of Carthage, Judy Seymour of Sarcoxie, Bill (Sheila) Corum of Sarcoxie, Bob Corum of Carthage, Steve Corum of Joplin and Becky (Friend) Massey of Sarcoxie; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Donna Corum of Wichita, Kan.; many nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; sons, Ed Corum and Gary Corum; one grandson; and her eight siblings.
Funeral services were held June 20, 2019 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home in Sarcoxie. Burial followed at Harvey Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Harvey Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
