Lois Hunter

Lois Hunter, age 98, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the Mt. Vernon Place Care Center.  She was born November 8, 1920, in Everton, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Bessie (Hood) Wisehart.
Lois was a 1938 graduate of Miller High School.  She lived every day of her 98 years to the fullest.  She was a bookkeeper, sang in a quartet, loved cats, made beautiful quilts, owned a drive-in, played Bingo, and was a lifelong member of the Miller Christian Church and a member of the Miller American Legion Auxiliary.  She is finally home where she’s wanted to be for so long.  Rest in Peace.
On June 4, 1938, she married Verdis “Dude” Hunter in Miller.  He preceded her in death on September 23, 2000.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Verlyn West and her husband, Dale, of Longview, Texas; two grandchildren, Mike West of Palestine, Texas and Shelley Wisinger and her husband, Sid, of Fort Worth, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Lacey Herndon and her husband, Marshall and Shay Wisinger, all of Dallas, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie, husband, Dude, two sisters and four brothers.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, in Miller, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at the Sycamore Cemetery, east of Miller.  Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in the funeral home chapel.
